New or modified swimming pools require zoning permits. Pools must be located behind the front of the house and at least 5 ft from the side and rear property lines. Pools must be surrounded by a secure fence of at least 4 feet in height so as to prevent uncontrolled access by children from the street or adjacent properties. The combined height of the pool walls and fence must be a minimum of 6 feet above grade. For more information about the Township’s swimming pool regulations, please refer to Article 7, Section 713 of the Union Township Zoning Resolution.
