Citizens Police Academy
The Citizens Police Academy (CPA) is a public relations program that Union Township Police Department offers free to the public, annually from August to November. Participants must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid license and be able to pass a criminal history check. The program lasts for 12 weeks with the class meeting once a week between the hours of 6 to 9 pm. There are two Saturday classes involved in which academy members visit and receive instruction at the police firing range and defensive driving course. The program culminates with a graduation ceremony, including a catered dinner for all participants and family members of those that have completed the program. This simulated police academy put on for citizens and people who work in Union Township touches on various law enforcement topics ranging from investigations and forensics to defensive driving, self-defense and drug interdiction. The interactive CPA program reduces the mystery that is sometimes placed between law enforcement and the public.

Police Night Out
Our annual night out with the residents of Union Township at Veteran's Park gives our citizens a chance to get to know their police officers in a festival-type setting that sends a message to criminals that we are all working together to keep crime out of our neighborhoods. Police Night Out 2019 is grateful to our sponsors Walmart, Meijer, Sams Club, Cincinnati Bell, TQL, Constellation Energy, and Beechmont Ford, without which Police Night Out would not be the quality event it has been. If you are a business or organization that would like to be involved in next year's night out, please contact Police Night Out by calling 513-752-1230 or fill out the contact form.
