Overview
The Union Township Zoning Commission is comprised of citizens who are appointed by the Board of Trustees, and who are charged with reviewing the details of the requested zoning amendments. As new development or redevelopment is proposed, it is sometimes necessary to change to a different zoning district to accommodate the project. The Zoning Commission reviews each amendment and forwards the recommendation the Board of Trustees, who finalizes the determination of the requested amendment. The same process is required to make an amendment to the text of the Zoning Resolution and utilized for new Planned-Unit Development proposals.
Purpose
To hear requests and testimony regarding a change in the zoning designation of specific property or regarding text amendments to the Union Township Zoning Resolution, in order to make recommendations to the Board of Trustees for final consideration. These processes are governed by the Ohio Revised Code.
