Union Township currently operates and maintains four parks: Veterans Memorial Park, Clepper Park, Ivy Point Park and Mt. Carmel Park. The township views the parks as a major asset, providing both active and passive recreational activities for all to enjoy.

The shelters at our parks are available for reservation.  The reservation form can be downloaded from the document library page.

From time to time, the township trustees will reserve an area for a township-sponsored event.

The parks are open to the public from dawn until dusk. 

If you are interested in reserving time on one of the baseball diamonds, you can do so by filling out the necessary form (online form coming soon), which can be found on the Forms Library page, and submitting that form to Matt Taylor at the Union Township Service Dept.

Mt. Carmel Park

Mt. Carmel Park is the township's newest park, and at just over one and a half acres, it is also the smallest, often being referred to as a "Pocket Park." Mt. Carmel Park began to take shape in 2004. Development of this park included the removal of some selected trees and underbrush, re-grading the site, planting the grounds with grass, and the construction of the park sign.

After the township was awarded a Community Development Block Grant, the park was equipped with picnic tables, benches, playground equipment, and other amenities.

Even as the smallest park, Mt. Carmel Park is enjoyed for its lovely surroundings and relaxing atmosphere.

Veteran's Memorial Park

Located on the corner of Clough Pike and Glen Este-Withamsville Road, the 25-acre Veterans Memorial Park is a popular spot in Union Township. It offers much in the way of recreation, including tennis and basketball courts, soccer fields, baseball diamonds, sand volleyball courts, a walking track, an equipped playground, a fitness trail, a fishing pond, sheltered and unsheltered picnic areas with grills, and public restroom facilities. All of these facilities and the landscaping itself are kept clean and beautiful, thanks to constant upkeep from the Union Township Service Department.

The park's facilities are used by many organizations throughout the year, including teams from the Southeast Cincinnati Soccer Association and select soccer, the Northeastern Tennis League, and both girls' and boys' baseball teams.

Veterans Memorial Park is also a popular spot for events in the township. In 2006 alone some of the events held in the park included the Flags of Honor tribute in January, the military cemetery and Memorial Day Services, the Mental Health Association Vigil in September, and the military cemetery and Veterans’ Day Service held in November, an event which has garnered national attention.

In the fall of 2003, a four-fifths scale model of the Vietnam Memorial Wall was brought to Veterans Memorial Park to honor those fallen in that war. The event was sponsored by the Clermont County Veterans' Service Commission and Union Township trustees. More than 25,000 people visited the memorial, which had a mobile computer system onsite to research the location of names.

The park is an important piece of both the township and county. The township is proud of its close ties to local veterans and veteran events, as well as the recreational amenities if offers its visitors. 

Clepper Park

Encompassing 50 acres, Clepper Park is the largest park operated and maintained by Union Township. The park has entrances on Summerside Road and on Barg Salt Run Road.

Clepper Park boasts a large number of recreational facilities, including basketball courts, soccer fields, baseball diamonds, a football field, walking track, fishing lake, an equipped playground, sheltered and unsheltered areas with grills, and public restroom facilities. All the shelters have hard surface walkways and some of the shelters have picnic tables which can accomodate wheelchairs.

Many organizations make use of the park during the year. The Eastgate Soccer Association, St. Veronica's football program, and both boys' and girls' baseball and softball teams use the facilities. The basketball courts are used heavily throughout the year, and the track is popular for walking, jogging, bicycling, and skating. The fishing lake is a "catch and release" operation and offers both experienced and novice anglers a place to test their skills.

Clepper Park is also the site for the township's largest salt storage shed, with a rated capacity of 1800 tons.  

Ivy Pointe Park

Ivy Pointe Park is the township's fourth park. This park is located on Ivy Pointe Boulevard and is a pet-friendly park situated on just over eight acres. Ivy Pointe Park is graced with two beautiful gazebos, a paved walking trail, a pond, and a restroom facility. This park is unique in the sense that, as the surrounding business district grows, the walking path from the park will eventually encompass the entire business district. This is an incredible green space that capitalizes on the natural beauty of the area.
