UTPD 911 Communication Specialists Police Department
Chief Zinser received this compliment of service about UTPD's 911 communication specialists. Over the last six weeks, I have had to phone 911 four times for emergency assistance with my parents. I am calling to let you know that each time the person at dispatch was great, very professional and calm, which I greatly appreciated. Every time I called there were different EMS staff persons who responded to each call and every single one of them was outstanding. Their professionalism, efficiency and kindness were felt every time I called. In summary, I wanted to let you know that each encounter was "tremendous" and I feel compelled to commend the township for having so many professional and caring individuals on staff.
UTPD P.O. Wilfert and P.O. Reardon

UTPD Police Department
I just wanted to send a note in thanking your department for a specific incident this morning. I attend Ambassador Free Will Baptist Church on Clough Pike, and I head up our Angelfood Ministry. This morning around 5:00 AM, I was at the church in a U-haul van picking up some coolers to store food in. While I was loading up the van by myself, a UT police office pulled up, got out and asked me what I was doing. I explained what was happening, and he radioed in my name and drivers license number, and told me to try and keep warm. I really do appreciate the fact that if someone had been breaking into the church, the UT police would have been there to stop it. I do not remember the officer’s name, so I thought I would send this in as a general thank you! Jeremy Luthy
P.O. Buelsing Police Department
Bonnie Gibson wrote to Chief Zinser to express her thankfulness for the expertise and rapid response of Officer Ed Buelsing and other officers working the day her son’s car was hit by a hit and run driver on December 26, 2008. Ms Gibson writes, by the time I was able to get to them, Officer Buelsing was there and had put out a description of the hit and run car and his fellow officers had found the car! I never would have figured this would happen. I don’t know how or where they knew to look for the car but very good police work solved this. Thanks again for all your expertise in getting this solved and solved fast.
UTPD Police Department

UTPD employees lend a helping hand this Christmas. Union Township Officer Steve Siekbert had contact with a grandmother who advised him that her daughter, who lives in Union Township did not have enough money for presents or even a nice dinner for Christmas for her three kids (ages 10 months, 2 and 13). Officer Siekbert collected $150.00 from several officers and dispatchers and he and his wife went out on their own time and bought presents and food for the family. Officer Siekbert brought the presents in on Christmas Eve day and they were delivered to the grandmother who in turn delivered them to her daughter and grandchildren. This type of generosity and thoughtfulness is typical not only of Officer Siekbert, but many of Union Township employees. I am sure the gesture was a celebrated surprise and greatly appreciated by the family.

Please pass on a BIG THANKS to the Union Township Police! They are the BEST!! I'm working at the PNC Bank in Union Township (Withamsville) ... we've been robbed twice in the past 6 months ... and it is soooo awesome that they patrol around our branch several times a day and even drive thru the drive thru and come into the branch to check on us! BIG HUGS to them!
