It was only in early 2018 that ground was broken for the new Mercy Health – Eastgate Medical Center with occupancy tentatively scheduled for the third quarter of this year. The Medical Center held its official ribbon cutting May 17, ahead of schedule.
The 78,000 square foot, $21 million medical center is open for business with a variety of services that will serve patients from Hamilton, Clermont, Brown and Adams counties, providing a one-stop shop for patients that, Mercy Health spokeswoman Nanette Bentley said, are traditionally under-served.
The first floor houses Oncology Hematology Care Inc. (OHC), offering integrated cancer care services including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, a cancer genetics program, and clinical research trials, among other programs. The Community Resource Center of Hope is an education and resource space offering outpatient spiritual care, support groups, nutrition, cooking and exercise classes to cancer patients. On the first floor is also Eastgate Imaging, including state-of-the-art comprehensive outpatient radiology services including MRI, EKG, CT, X-ray, and ultrasound, and the Outpatient Pharmacy.
Eastgate Family Medicine is located on the second floor and includes board-certified primary care doctors and health providers, treating patients through all stages of their lives. Eastgate Outpatient Rehabilitation & Physical Therapy offers physical therapy, and speech and lymphedema therapy, as well as special therapies for those going through cancer treatment. The Women’s Center is also located on the second floor and is equipped with the most advanced imaging/screening technology, including digital mammography, breast ultrasound and biopsy, stereotactic breast biopsy and Dexa Scan.
Cincinnati Eye Institute (CEI) is located on the third floor and provides the highest level of medical and surgical eye care in patient clinical offices and an ambulatory surgery center with three operating rooms.
Union Township Chairman of the Board of Trustees John McGraw said the township is excited to see the medical center open.
“It is a big win for Union Township, Clermont County, and all of the eastside to have these specialized medical services available so close to home,” McGraw said.
